This guide applies to all Maintainers, regardless of seniority, and ensures that Project Malleus can continue to pride itself on a strong peer review process. It should be read alongside the Card Submissions Guidelines document. Please contact Hugh (Lead Malleus Maintainer) for any questions.

Getting started
- Install the following add-ons from Ankiweb:
- AnkiHub
- Malleus Anki Helper Addon
- NoteSync
- Wrapper meta-addon
- Add Hyperlink
- Advanced Browser
- Batch Editing
- BetterSearch
- Clickable Tags v20
- Read the Submission Guidelines in full, being particularly aware of formatting requirements
Submitting cards for peer review
-
Assign yourself to different topics on the Master projects board under the ‘Card Creation’ project page
-
When making new cards ensure to add a unique tag to ALL submitted cards for peer review:
#Malleus_CM::!TO_DO!::Peer_Review::[YOUR_ANKIHUB_USERNAME]
-
If appropriate feel free to append the above tagging structure with a particular topic heading to help group cards on particular topics together to make peer review easy for other maintainers, for example:
#Malleus_CM::!TO_DO!::Peer_Review::AnkiHub_Username::GCS_Cards
-
Select (highlight) all new cards and submit once completed to the Malleus deck WITHOUT review (by clicking on the ‘submit without review’ checkbox)

- Await peer review and be sure to check the #Card_Discussion_Forum discord forum for any posts that might tag you
Reviewing cards awaiting peer review
- View all cards under with the Peer_Review tag
- Review cards to ensure alignment with the Card Submission Guidelines
- If align —> delete the peer review tag and AUTO-APPROVE (easiest done in bulk)
- If minor error —> fix, then delete the peer review tag and AUTO-APPROVE
- If major errors/formatting issues —> post a new forum post on the #Card_Discussion_Forum, ensuring to tag the original author of the cards to respond to your feedback
- Original authors of cards should never remove their own peer review tag, unless they have responded to a forum post from another Maintainer and made the appropriate amendments to the cards (or provided an adequate rebuttel to criticism)
- Please respond to peer review forum posts as soon as feasible; all edits to cards are ultimately the responsibility of the original card authors
