Malleus CM is organised by a sophisticated system of tags and subtags based on Subjects, Rotations, Therapeutic Guidelines, Universities, and other key areas of study. It is not organised by sub-decks like some other popular decks.

  1. šŸ”Ā Suspend all cards

    By default all 2500+ cards will be ā€˜unsuspendedā€™, to begin suspend all cards. Specific cards can then be later unsuspended based on whatever area of study you are covering.

    Open the Browser by clicking Browse (keyboard shortcut: B)

    find ā€˜Tagsā€™ in the sidebar, click the drop down, find and select ā€˜#Malleus_CMā€™.

    Select any card in the main window of the Browser, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A (Windows) or āŒ˜ + A (MacOS) to select all cards. Then right click the selected cards > Toggle Suspend.

    All of the cards should be now be yellow (meaning they are suspended), if they are not just repeat this step.

    This only needs to be done once.

  2. šŸ”ŽĀ Find an area of study

    All cards can be unsuspended and entered into circulation from the browser. To find an area of study locate this through the tags, select the cards and un-suspend them. Follow the example scenarios below:

    You can use the malleus helper addon (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/620451841?cb=1736747983225) to easily find cards to unsuspend.

    1. Go to tools ā†’ Malleus Find/Add Cards in the menu bar from the anki homescreen or you can click the malleus button on the left side of the anki browser window
    2. Select the database you want to search (subjects, pharmacology, eTG, rotation ā€¦)
    3. Enter a search term (e.g. ā€œpaeds emergenciesā€) and press enter

    1. Optional: you can change the Tag dropdown to a subtag (e.g. Management) to find cards only related to management
    2. Select the pages you want to find cards on (or click select all)
    3. Click find cards </aside>

    Return to the main window, click Malleus Clinical Medicine (AU/NZ) and then Study Now and do your reviews!
