Requirements for CPD eligibility

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements need to be completed by Australian doctors outside of a training program or supervised clinical practice, with requirements fitting three categories: Educational Activity, Measuring Outcomes and Reviewing Performance.

Being involved in the Malleus Project can be counted as Educational Activity CPD. Below are examples of how this might be self-logged in a CPD Home. The Malleus Project can be used to complete CPD requirements.

What can be counted as Educational Activities (EA) for CPD:

• Using the Malleus deck to upskill
• Creating cards, including research time to draft and revise cards
• There is also a 10-15 minute presentation on a topic in the fortnightly Maintainer meetings, which everyone is welcome to attend. The presenter and attendees are able to count this presentation as EA.

For Maintainers:

• Reviewing cards for accuracy, currency, Australian relevance and referencing and providing feedback
• Parts of meetings that focus on the clinical aspects of the cards - such as time spent planning, debating and reviewing learning
