Project Malleus was founded by Eric Smith in 2022, with the invaluable help of Sabiqul Hoque. Both Eric and Sabiqul are now medical interns in 2025. We have and always will be volunteer run, open-source and free to users and our mission remains the same - to radically reform medical education in Australia and New Zealand. As of 2025, we have 8 current maintainers and over 1500 active subscribers on AnkiHub.
From 2026, Hugh Fenton-White will become our Lead Malleus Maintainer and will be primarily responsible for overseeing deck completion, which we anticipate will occur by December 2026. He will be assisted by Michael Colla, our Lead Content Reviewer.
